What you see is what you get?

What you see is what you get?

This video is making the rounds lately on the Internet:

It’s interesting because this is a great visual example of our human perspective versus God’s perspective. What we think we see — what we think we know — may not be true. When we look at the world, we may see the need to focus on being successful, making lots of money, and gaining power. But God tells us in Isaiah 55:6-9 that we are first to seek after Him:

“Seek the LORD while He may be found;
call upon Him while he is near;
let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

It goes against our human nature to not rely on what we see right in front of us, but God sees the world from before the beginning to eternity. He created people in His own image and He loves us so much that He sent His Son to die in our place for the sins we’ve committed. Let’s trust Him, rather than ourselves, with every aspect of our lives
