Missions opportunities are plentiful at New Bethesda. From our annual summer Vacation Bible School, which we call our “Mission to New Bethesda,” to North American missions to places like New York City and Standing Rock, S.D., to overseas missions in places like Haiti, Ecuador, and Kazakhstan, New Bethesda’s mission footprint is outsized for a small rural church. If you join our New Bethesda family, we don’t offer you a comfortable pew, rather, we are blessed with an environment where the Holy Spirit challenges us to sacrifice, give, and go. Recently, Lisa Brown spoke to our congregation, echoing IMB president David Platt’s challenge to spend just 2 percent of our year — seven days — in doing something missional outside the walls of our church. The upcoming church-wide mission to Bland County, Virginia is an outstanding opportunity for anyone, even an entire family, to join in what God is doing both in our church and beyond.
