Operation Christmas Child

Our national collection week for 2018 is Nov. 12-19.

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. This program of Samaritan’s Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on mission project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas — Jesus Christ, God’s greatest gift. Along with shoe box gifts, millions of children are given Gospel booklets in their own language.
2018 will be the 22nd year that New Bethesda has participated in Operation Christmas Child. As a Collection Center, we receive boxes from Relay Centers and many area churches and individuals. In 2016, New Bethesda collected over 27,194 as a Collection Center, contributing 830 of those shoeboxes ourselves. This involves many, many volunteers from churches throughout our community.
